Bulmer creek, Mt Owen, Kahurangi National Park

The Bulmer Bluffs! After a happy walk through the bush, the tramper is confronted by seemingly impassable bluffs rising sheer for several hundred feet above the forest. Fortunately there is a diagonal ledge, free from exposure, which ascends the face. There is only one little scramble which is assisted by a knotted rope and a wire foot hold.... Lots of fun.
