Mt Gloriana, Nelson Lakes National Park/Lewis Pass

Gloriana and Fairie Queene are the highest peaks along the southern boundary of the Nelson Lakes National Park. The St James walkway lies 1200m below in the valley. Melissa admires the view before we head off and climb the wrong peak (my fault for not looking at the map). Fairie Queene is to the far right (and higher than Gloriana). The highest peak of Gloriana is the apparent lowest of the three peaks left-of-centre. The slopes beneath this range are prone to avalanches.
