Dusky Sound, Fiordland National Park |
Dusky Sound, looking down the Fiord from the hut... the sea is some 25-30km away through a maze of steep-sided fiords and bush clad islands. An abundance of fish next to the hut dictated our diet. A small boat allows you to explore the fiord and neighbouring islands.... and escape the sandflies on the shore. We were accompanied by seal pups and dolphins on our excursion. Ironically, Dusky Sound was one of the first areas of European contact but is now one of the most remote parts of the mainland. |
