The Sealy Tarns, Mt Cook National Park

The Sealy Tarns are an easy walk from Mt Cook village. 500m of steep hillside is ascended by way of hundreds of steps (count them if you're bored). The tarns lie at the edge of the scrub and reward the walker with great views of Mt Cook, Sefton and the village - on a good day. Usually we're carrying heavy packs up here on the way to Mueller Hut, the Sealy range and Upper Mueller Glacier.
