The old Acheron accommodation house at the confluence of the Acheron and the Clarence rivers. This is the Southern boundary of Molesworth Station - the largest farm in NZ. It is also the beginning of a great mountain bike trip in Summer which traverses Molesworth Station. Access is restricted to only a few weeks over Summer. The homestead shown is one of the older buildings in NZ and its construction from mud and straw is now rare. Once we once spent a night here - very warm inside those thick walls! |
