CUTC snowcraft, Temple Basin, Arthur's Pass. How to build a massive snow mound... and bury everyone's gear. The idea is that a pile of packs is burried under snow and a tunnel is dug to remove them. Thus leaving a cavity to enlarge... on this occasion people were a little too enthusiastic and it took 2-3 hours to find the packs... lots of fun on a sunny day. Mt Rolleston dominates the far side of the valley. |
