| Just above Zermatt - pleasant meadows with cows and sheep give way to hamlets followed by an abrupt transition into the commercialised town centre with its thousands of tourists. However, to be fair, Zermatt seems like a very well-planned development and a good compromise between the needs of tourists (climbers/skiers) and nature. I like the idea of only electric vehicles and no road access! They should look at this option in NZ. |
