The gallery consists of overview pages which contain 10 or so small pictures on a topic (up to 60K for the largest page). There is also a text index of all full-size images and their size. The index is more complete. Each overview page runs a slide show. Slide shows are controlled by pressing the arrows at the bottom of the full-screen pages.
To get an enlarged version of any small
photo + text, just click on it!
Preferably run Netscape on a machine with a 24-bit monitor.
If on an 8-bit monitor, make sure no process is using up all the colours! Run netscape with the "-install" option (get it to use its own colour map i.e. not shared).
Gamma (brightness) is a real problem - my images look very good on a 24-bit SGI with gamma of 1.8. Otherwise adjust brightness/contrast on the monitor (why is gamma not a netscape otpion??).
In the worst case reload images from the cache and use XV or some jpeg viewer to correct for Gamma.
I have tried to reduce the data in images but necessarily lowered quality. Contact me if you want higher quality (up to 24-bit 2000x3000 pixels PhotoCD).
You might have to resize the window
so that three horizontal images can be viewed on the same line.
