| All the hydro intakes on the spectacular Grand Dixence(?) hydroelectric scheme seemed to be marked with statues of Our Lady. The scheme features a network of barrages (dams - some over 200m high) and long tunnels which collect water from the high catchments of the Rhone. Some of the generation heads are in excess of 2000m! |
