Mt Huxley, Ohau State Forest Park

In the shadow of Mt Huxley, looking South. Graeme Bathurst and I traversed the moraines of the remnant glaciers which cling to the South face of Mt Huxley. Meanwhile the braver female members on this CUTC expedition went swimming in the terminal lake... complete with floating blocks of ice.

This enjoyable Summer trip contrasted with a mid winter epic two years earlier during a week of the lowest temperatures recorded in NZ.
